Bastille Day and Reception Visit to Roby Mill Farm on Tuesday 14th July 2026
All of our children enjoyed celebrating Bastille Day on Tuesday 14th July 2026. Madame Taylor decorated the hall, shared activities with the classes and set up a fun photo shoot. Thanks to the kitchen team for the French meals too.
Bastille Day is the national holiday of France, celebrated annually on July 14th. Known in French as la Fête Nationale or le 14 juillet, it commemorates the storming of the Bastille prison in 1789, a pivotal turning point that marked the official start of the French Revolution.
Reception class had an exciting visit to Roby Mill Farm and shop this morning. We looked round the farm at lots of growing fruit and vegetables. We spotted pumpkins, kale, cauliflower and enjoyed looking at the wild flowers. We then ventured into the raspberry patch and had a great time raspberry picking. We enjoyed a lovely ice cream and tasted the raspberries. The children were all fantastic and enjoyed a lovely morning out in the sunshine.
