Emma Bridgewater Art Lesson in Year 2 - Thursday 5th June 2025

On Thursday 5th June, the Year 2 children have learnt all about the artist Emma Bridgewater.

Emma is famous for her pottery and her theme of patterns and traditional designs.  After showing the children some of her collections, they had to design a plate using some of her techniques.  We discussed scale, repetition and theming.

Mrs Jennings explained that she was lucky enough to visit the factory in Stoke last week to paint her own Emma Bridgewater plate.

They will eventually copy their designs onto paper plates and sign the back just like Emma does.
