Year 4 Parish Church Visit and Year 3 Archery on Monday 23rd March 2026
On Monday 23rd March 2026, the Year 3 children enjoyed their introduction to archery session and it was another busy day for the Year 4 children.
Y4 StThomas the Martyr church visit.
Y4 visited StThomas the Martyr for their History and Art lesson this week. They started off by looking at the church and the grounds and imagining how it used to be a bustling priory and even with some children wondering if they were walking in King Edward's footsteps after his visit. We also hunted for Nanny Lyon's gravestone and wondered if the local legend George was buried there. Finally we chose a spot at the front of the church to sketch before heading back.
Y4 Science week.
Alongside their curriculum topic of sound, Y4 also planted potatoes as part of their Science week. When each group had had their turn planting they tested which string could carry vibrations best in their homemade telephones.
The Year 4 children also loved making friends with the ducklings.
