Year 4 RE, Year 5 Science and Pupil Parliament - Thursday 29th January 2026

On Thursday 29th January 2026, the Year 4 children studied the theme of trust in their RE lesson as part of the Easter topic. They started off by completing some trust falls to see who the pupils believed in.

In their Science lesson, the Year 5 children studied how to separate different mixtures. They used a sieve with large holes to separate rice and beans, a sieve with small holes to separate rice and sugar, a magnet to separate salt and paper clips and a funnel and filter paper to separate sand and water. They learned that these are all examples of reversible changes to materials.

Our Head boy and Head girl attended a Pupil Parliament meeting at the Zone centre in Skelmersdale. They were joined by other schools from our local area. They discussed how they had a voice in our local community and what improvements they would like to see, which would benefit the people of Skelmersdale and our local area. We are very proud of both of our pupils as they had some amazing ideas and they were confident in providing their opinions to the large group.
