Year 5 Science Lesson - Thursday 26th February 2026
On Thursday 26th February 2026 the Year 5 children enjoyed learning about irreversible changes in materials. They learnt that these are permanent alterations and the original state cannot be recovered, usually resulting in the formation of a new state or form.
Using a bottle, vinegar, a balloon, funnel and Bicarbonate of Soda they were able to inflate their balloon with the new solution.
This confirms that a neutralization reaction occurs, producing carbon dioxide.
