Year 5 STEM and Year 2 Science on Friday 6th March 2026
On Friday 6th March 2026, the STEM club project has been on parachutes. The Year 5 children have learned how parachutes drastically increase the air resistance to counter gravity, slowing a falling object to a safe landing. We talked about the shape and size of the canopy deployed for maximum effect. The children discussed materials and how it deploys. Finally the children were able to make a sample parachute and have some fun testing it out in school and in our quiet garden.
The Year 2 children have been busy learning about living objects and items that have been man made in their Science lesson.
